Technomar Engenharia boasts Research & Development teams that create both technologies and innovative solutions for the sustainable exploration of and extraction from rivers and oceans. In recent projects, the company has applied concepts, virtual models and practical implementation of digital twins and innovative floating structures, amongst other such emerging technologies. Some examples of the projects and concepts applied by Technomar include: oil rigs, floating wind turbines, new autonomous remote-controlled exploration vessels and structures designed to reduce emissions and to sequester greenhouse gases. Technomar further maintains partnerships with leading Universities, such as USP- (Universidade de São Paulo) and Tokyo University, in order to develop joint research and share knowledge. Technomar engineers have received prestigious scientific awards for their contributions to the advance of naval and oceanic engineering.

Conceptual Projects

By using parametric models, such as those created in EdTools, Technomar engineers can develop new concepts for vessels, oil rigs and floating wind-turbines, as well as related technologies towards reducing pollution emissions and aiding the production of clean energy.

New Technologies and the Environment

Technomar works directly with innovating projects, such as the installation of floating wind turbines, anchored to the sea bed by means of a series of cables and moorings, allowing for the generation of clean energy in deep oceans.

One of the challenges of this project is to ensure that these structures are capable of standing up to adverse ocean conditions, intense waves, winds and strong currents.

Partnerships

In order to continue evolving on the innovation front, Technomar has partnerships with both Brazilian and International Universities and other benchmark companies in the R&D/Engineering area.

Through these collaborations, the company is capable of developing solutions for new concepts, digital twins and new floating units with applications in fluvial and offshore operations.

Digital Twins

Given Technomar’s analytical capacity, the company has participated in the construction of virtual FPSO models (Floating Production Storage and Offloading units), offloading vessels and other oil and gas exploration support vessels.

These digital twins are being used in a range of applications in engineering, including the planning of Oil and Gas production operations, forecasting of structural faults and risk management of simultaneous operations. They can be used to simulate the coupled behavior of various systems, foreseeing any faults and optimizing performance.

Expertise

• Know-how in experiment analysis (physical scale models), from the planning and execution, right up to results analysis.

• Conducting of testing in the areas of behavior at sea, mooring systems, dynamic positioning and forward resistance(drag)

• Installation procedure, vortex induced vibration (VIV/VIM), green-water and dynamic risers.
